Programs Include:

Ø     State Science Fair - An annual event in its 67th year that showcases Minnesota students’ best work in the field of science.   Every year, thousands of students in grades 7 through 12 compete in local and regional science fairs, and close to 450 of them rise to participate in the state’s annual competition.  Winners advance to the International Science and Engineering Fair where they can win college scholarships.

Ø     Science Olympiad – A program for students in grades 6 through 12 designed to capture the kind of interest, enthusiasm, and commitment for science typically seen exhibited for sports, increase student scores and student interest in science and improve community perception of science education.

Ø     Research and Engineering Apprenticeship Program (REAP) – A program that annually places two high school students in a research environment with a professional scientist where they conduct original research.

Ø     Winchell Undergraduate Research Symposium – A forum for undergraduate students to present their research to a broad audience.  125 students compete annually in paper and poster competitions as a part of MAS’ Annual Meeting.
