Ø
State Science Fair - An annual event in its 67th
year that showcases Minnesota students’ best work in the field of science. Every year, thousands of students in grades 7
through 12 compete in local and regional science fairs, and close to 450 of
them rise to participate in the state’s annual competition. Winners advance to the International Science
and Engineering Fair where they can win college scholarships.

Junior Science and Humanities Symposium
(JSHS) – A paper competition for 40 students in grades
7 through 12 that focuses on the interdependence and inter-relationships of the

orally in a competition that is as much forensic as scientific, and the winner
advances to the national JSHS competition.
Ø
Science Bowl – A fast-paced, team competition, in its 11th year, where
200 students in teams of 5 from around the state compete to advance to the
National Science Bowl competition.
