24 LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL TEAMS COMPETE IN

10TH ANNUAL SCIENCE BOWL

 

Winning Team Receives Expense-paid Trip to Compete in

National Science Bowl in Washington D.C.

 

MINNETONKA, MINN. (January 18, 2003) -- On Friday, January 24th, 24 metro high school teams will compete in a rapid fire, questions and answer format at the 10th Annual Minnesota Academy of Science Bowl held at the Olin-Rice Hall of Science of Macalester College in St. Paul.

Students will compete in the following categories: astronomy, biology, physics, mathematics, chemistry, computer, earth and general science, and current events in the scientific and technical community. Local scientists will act as judges for the event.

The winning team and coach will receive an all-expense paid trip to compete at the 13th annual National Science Bowl in Washington, D.C. in May 2003.

The 2003 Minnesota Academy of Science Bowl is made possible through the help of volunteers from such Twin Cities companies as Xcel Energy, 3M, General Mills and Lifecore Biomedical.
